B&M has sent shoppers into a frenzy with a £40 coffee table that looks almost identical to a £190 high-end item. The retailer's Home Collection Coffee Table is making waves on social media. TikTok user @Demfitter.xo went viral with a video showcasing the new furniture.
In it, she said: "Don't walk run to B&M for the new coffee table!!" The shopper's caption added: "Got my hands on the new B&M coffee table OBSESSED." The clip quickly racked up 90,000 views. One excited viewer replied: "Omg love this!!"
When someone else added: "It’s tiny for a coffee table. More like a side table," @Demfitter.xo replied: "It’s the perfect size for my living room they do a matching side table."
B&M's product description states: "This Home Collection Coffee Table is perfect for resting drinks, books or remotes." B&M adds that the table has a 'stunning light oak finish' and is easy to self-assemble.
The item looks similar to Daals' Maru Round Oak Pedestal Coffee Table, which is much more expensive at £189.99. Daals' popular table is available in several colours, but the oak version looks most like B&M's furniture.

Both coffee tables share a similar colour palette and rounded shape, complete with stylish panelling. However, Daals' version boasts solid oak construction and fluted panelling, setting it apart in terms of materials.
The product description reads: "Meet the new addition to our Maru range, the Maru Coffee Table boasts contemporary Japandi style with a pedestal fluted base made from solid oak. Crafted from solid and oak veneer and clear lacquer, each table has its unique natural grains and knots."
There's also a significant difference in dimensions. The B&M table measures approximately 60 x 40 cm and weighs around 5kg, while the pricier option measures 80 x 80 x 40 cm and weighs 14.7 kg.
Meanwhile, Furniture Box offers a table that resembles both designs: its Penrose Oak Effect Round Wood Pedestal Coffee Table, priced at £189.99, down from £239.99. Again, there are differences compared to B&M's table.

The product description says: "Our Penrose oak effect round wooden pedestal coffee table is a simple yet elegant end table for your living room. Featuring a single slatted wood pillar leg, the Penrose is all about clean lines and simple shapes, drawing inspiration from Scandi and Japanese interior design.
"Perfect for keeping your living room essentials tidy and room for the all important cup of tea. Constructed from sturdy and durable wood composite with a matte oak effect scratch-resistant melamine veneer finish that has wood grain details. The Penrose coffee table will look fab in any modern home with its sleek minimalist look."

That being said, any of these tables could look fabulous in your home. Given its considerably lower price tag, B&M's offering might be particularly appealing for customers searching for budget-friendly furniture.
The retailer also offers a Kristen Coffee Table for £75, a Tromso Lift Up Coffee Table for £60, and a Lisbon 1 Door Coffee Table for £38.
