A fantastic day yesterday at the Sedulo Foundation golf day at Worsley Marriott. Lots of fun and almost £10,000 raised to help children living in poverty. Nailed my blindfold drive but not sure how I should take Carl Finlayson telling everyone that it's the best shot he's ever seen me hit and my team suggest I use the blindfold for the rest of the round 🤣🤣

🏃🏻 Health Kick Update! 🏃🏻Not sure whether you are more bored of my deal posts or my lifestyle posts but thought I would share an update!WHY?There are three key reasons why I like to share this on my LinkedIn:-1️⃣ – It’s a difficult journey and other people seeing the results is motivating for me. Everyone likes a compliment or seeing the hard yards is having a result2️⃣ – Accountability. The more I make people aware of the journey, the less likely I am to revert back to my ‘old ways’ – that’s the idea anyway!3️⃣ – If I can do it, anyone can. And maybe reading this is the motivation somebody else needs to make the startUPDATESo I am now 7 months into this. I spent the first 6 months tee-total, no fizzy drinks and eating very little. My personality is “all or nothing” – I understand that for long term change, it needs to be a lifestyle change but in all honesty, I struggle with moderation in every part of my life (as you can see from my LinkedIn posts when on holiday!). I am all in or all out with everything and so I made the decision to be all in. Over the last month, I have tried to start re-introducing little things to help with the moderation – I went out with my team and had a couple of vodka cranberrys as an example! Results are pleasing and today, I hit a big benchmark in that I have lost 33% of my starting weight – I am officially 2/3rds of the man I used to be!Starting weight: 138kgs (21st 10 lbs)Current weight: 92kgs (14st 7lbs)It's the first time (and pretty embarrassing) writing down my starting weight and losing over 7st so far has been great but the health benefits are really what I started this for. 💥 Diabetes - Gone from being reliant on daily and increasing medication to now being officially in remission and not needing any medication🏃🏻 Active - being able to do more with my kids, and be more of a role model to them. 👚 Clothes - being able to shop in the “normal” side for clothes! It’s not the end though, there are still goals to hit – I am 3lbs away from weighing under 200lbs – the first time since I was in high school.That’s it for now, thanks for reading a non-business post and good luck whatever your personal and professional goals are for the rest of the year, and beyond. Well July was a bit of a surprise – a pleasant surprise at that! Despite kids breaking up and summer holidays starting, the month was a very busy one, a record revenue month, and speaking to my network of professionals, it seems it was positive for them too – so fantastic news! In terms of our numbers:-DEALS: 124 – A business helped with funding every 78 minsFUNDING:17.4m of funding to enable entrepreneurs to achieve their goalsA snapshot of some of the deals is below:-💰 An online retailer supported with a £3m facility, completed in <48 hrs💰 A multi million pound ABL facility including a significant cashflow loan to fund an MBI in the HVAC sector💰 A £1.7m commercial mortgage against 3x multi-let securities in the North-East.💰 A small business loan turned around overnight and funded within 3 business hours – enquiry to completionJuly wasn’t all work work work work work though, not only did I personally enjoy a week off in Wales but also had my first game of golf of the summer, stayed up all night at a UFC event and treated the entire team and some lenders to a fantastic day at Chester races and a back to my youth Ibiza Classics event!There’s plenty of plans for August too:-⛳ Sedulo Foundation golf day – this has been sold out since it was announced – a HUGE thank you to those that are taking a team, and to those that have kindly sponsored. Last day of the month......Stress.......Panic.......For the first time that I can remember, today will not be that day. Delighted to have completed on a fundraise to enable my client to purchase a North-West based HVAC contractor. The purchase price was undisclosed but multi-million £s and we have also completed on a £750,000 invoice finance facility to provide ongoing working capital to the business.
